Sally Patrenos President

Sally Patrenos was named President of Floridians For Better Transportation in August 2016. She is skilled in public affairs, government relations, economic development and marketing. She has over thirty years' experience in executive positions working at the local, state, national and international levels. Her writings have been published throughout the US and Canada, and she has appeared on television nationally and internationally.

She launched Patrenos & Associates LLC, an advocacy, media relations and governmental affairs firm, in June 2011. Her client list has included both public and private sector entities from the energy, transportation, economic development and media industries.

Ms. Patrenos was honored in 2012 by being invited to be one of 13 Senior Fellows nationwide with Governing Institute, which focuses on state and local government performance, innovation, leadership and citizen engagement. In this role she writes for publication, speaks at national level seminars and moderates national and international webinars.

Previously, she served as the Executive Director of the Florida Transportation Commission, a governor-appointed body responsible for oversight of the Florida Department of Transportation and 17 of the state's tolling, expressway and transit authorities. She has over 20 years of experience in transportation policy development, having previously served as the Administrator of Intergovernmental Affairs with the Department of Transportation.

Earlier in her career she was appointed as Executive Director of the Florida International Affairs Commission, which coordinated all international trade, banking, education and diplomatic matters of the State of Florida, under the Governor's Chairmanship.

Prior to that, she was Director of the Division of International Marketing for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs where her responsibilities included developing and executing global trade missions.

Ms. Patrenos served as Associate Director of the Florida Petroleum Council, where she was in charge of media relations, governmental affairs and external liaison.

She is a native of Rome, Georgia, holds a Bachelor of Science degree from North Georgia College, and resides in Tallahassee, Florida.
