Director, Space Improvement Program
Lauren Farrell currently serves as Space Florida’s Director, Spaceport Improvement Program. In this role, she leads and manages all aspects of the Florida Spaceport Improvement Program, including statewide planning and infrastructure improvement. The Spaceport Improvement Program includes planning, funding, tracking and execution of the Florida Spaceport System Plan and the Cape Canaveral Spaceport Complex Master Plan.
Lauren joined Space Florida from the Florida Department of Transportation where she served as the District Program Manager for Spaceports and Aviation, where she was responsible for the development and execution of a 5-year work program for 20 airports and the Cape Canaveral Spaceport. She is known for her work in aviation prior to joining FDOT, as the Economic Development Manager at the City of Tavares. In this role, she successfully branded an entire city with the theme “America’s Seaplane City” – a unique approach with transportation at the heart of every project.
Lauren has spent most of her career as a Creative in Florida government ushering in innovative projects, inventive approaches and is known for fostering an atmosphere of “Yes, And”. Her unique blend of experience in the creative arena, transportation and economic development allows her to bring a full range of vision to the overall Spaceport Development Program.
